I Love a Drug-Addicted Hobbit

As much as I would love to give details of every minute of my trip to LA this weekend, there is one that I feel should be addressed immediately. And that is Dominic Monaghan. (IMDB)

Take a nice, long look.

Dominic, for those of you who do not know, plays Charlie Pace (my favorite character might I add) on my second all-time favorite television show, LOST.

My story begins as my family and I were driving to The Penthouse, a restaurant in Santa Monica on the coast. We were getting ready to board the red eye back to the East Coast and decided to end our weekend in style. Well, we are driving along the coast and I am just looking out the window, as I had all weekend, eyes peeled for celebrities, when I see him. Charlie. Walking down the sidewalk, shopping bags in hand, rocking a pretty awesome mohawk. The only thing that I could get out of my mouth was “Oh my gosh its Charlie from LOST! Charlie from LOST! Charlie from LOST! Charlie from LOST!!!” and I immediately reached for the door handle, but quickly realized that jumping out of a moving vehicle would not be the best idea I’ve had. Erin, of course, freaked out as well. And she isn’t even really a LOST fan. She really just loves the LOTR trilogy. And you have to admit, he made a great hobbit.

I didn’t even think to grab my camera (barely had enough time), and I therefore was mad at myself the rest of the night. As soon as the car stopped I asked if I could get out, but apparently we were late for our reservation. As we sat through our three hour dinner, I silently wished that he was craving The Penthouse’s awesome cup of $10 Mac N Cheese. Sadly, this wish did not come true. But I have faith that one day, we will meet again.

Last I heard earlier this year, he and Evangeline Lily (aka Kate on LOST) were dating again. I am not sure if they still are. So, I suggest you check out some photos of them shopping back in 2005. If I were a body language expert, I would say she is WAY more into him than he is her. Sad for her, good for me.

So here’s to Dominic, my future husband. One day we will look back on this weekend and laugh at how close we came to knowing each other sooner.
