He is Good.

So I wanted to give you guys an update on what God has been doing with the passions He has instilled in me…

Our Bible Study group has begun what we call “The Granola Project”, thanks to Jackie’s grand idea. Basically, we all carry granola bars, $2, and a tract in our cars and purses to hand out to the homeless. I have given out four bundles since we began, and it has been such a blessing! It is so interesting to hear stories from others as well. I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t get a text from someone who has handed out a bundle. Of course, sometimes we get rejected and even spit upon, sometimes we hear “I love you! Merry Christmas!”, and sometimes four of us give out a bundle to the same person at four different times. And that is beautiful, because through the Granola Project, we have gotten to know Max and are working on helping him get a job. We have been so blessed and have loved every minute of it.

In addition to TGP, last weekend a group from Mission:Change teamed up with some of us from the College | Career department at my church and we went to the Food Bank of Southwest Georgia to hand out packages of food and pack more for the next time around. In all, our group packed up 960 boxes worth of food, and gave away free food to 357 families (most of them averaging 6 people per household). And that doesn’t include the group from Mission: Change who were at a separate location handing out food!

Three of us actually worked the Registration table where we got to see the faces of those in need. We laughed with them, cried with them, and just got to love them. It was amazing. Words cannot describe what a blessing it was. We had planned to be there from 9 am – 12 pm, and ended up giving away food until 3:30! I wouldn’t have done it any differently. I could have stayed out there ALL day.

So that has been my life lately! The Lord is doing a MIGHTY work in me, in my friends, and in my church, and I cannot WAIT to see what He does next!!! In the meantime, I’ll continue on with what He has called me to do!
