Capturing Grace

The longer I walk this earth, the more aware of the Lord I become.

Sanctification. Growth. Conviction. Guidance. Blessings. Mercies.

None of this is deserved. And yet, He continues to give. Even in the smallest details of life.

“There is no event so commonplace but that God is present within it, always hidden, always leaving you room to recognize Him or not to recognize Him.” – Fredrick Buechner

I am learning to thank Him for the littlest things. To live a life of eucharisteo.

A cleaned house after coming home from an 18 hour day at the hospital with my Mom.
A hoodie when I’m stuck in the grocery store and it starts to pour.
A dog who always makes me laugh at her weirdness.
Clean sheets.
Coffee nearby when it’s needed most.
Co-workers who petition Heaven on behalf of my family.
Friends willing to lend a very helpful hand.
Hugs. Just because.
Oh Pinterest, you wouldn’t believe how much my domestication has improved because of you.
Letters dripping with Jesus.
Encouraging text messages from loved ones.
Mercies from the team as I work to plan our trip to South Africa.
Voicemails from hobbits.
Photographs, for when I’m feeling particularly nostalgic.
Fallen leaves.
Lint rollers.
Friends on the other side of the world who keep me connected to that sweet little boy.

I could go on and on. All I can say is “Thank You Jesus”.

He has blessed me far beyond I could ever ask or imagine. I’m praying that He continues to show Himself to me in the details of my every day. I pray I choose to see Him in the good and the bad, in the big and the small.

I plan on sharing these moments of captured grace in the minute details of life on this blog often. I encourage you to do the same. Count your blessings. It definitely makes it more difficult to complain.

What are some ways the Lord has shown you grace in the little things in life recently?
